Another ADULT stem cell success

Doctor's in Germany have successfully repaired a skull defect in a 7 year old girl using stem cells harvested from her own fatty tissue. Another stunning example of why we don't need to destroy embryonic "cells" in order to harvest useful stem cells.

A new study on chocolate

Drs Naomi Fisher and Norman Hollenberg, of Harvard Medical School, have done research into the health benefits of that healing balm, chocolate. Apparently, Kuna Indians from the Darien of Panama drink large quantities of cocoa that has only been "lightly processed"( ie not milk chocolate!). Since the cocoa hasn't been decimated by chemical processes, it retains high levels of flavanols, which are rich in antioxidant potential.

Because of this, the Kuna who drink the cocoa have significantly lower blood pressure than those who don't drink the dark nectar. In addition, these flavanols have the potential to lower cholesterol and thin the blood like aspirin.

Woo-hoo!!!
